SAGE to provide Intelligent Transport System for the O-Bahn City Access Project

SAGE Automation has been awarded the ITS Engineering contract for the O-Bahn City Access Project by principal contractor, McConnell Dowell.

The Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure has prioritised improving travel times, reliability and on-time running of bus services for O-Bahn users by getting buses more directly into Grenfell Street, as well as improving traffic outcomes on the city ring route for other road users.

 

SAGE Automation CEO Adrian Fahey, expressed his delight in being awarded this significant project “We sincerely thank McConnell Dowell and the South Australian Government for the opportunity to be involved in this significant project where we will utilise the full scope of our capability to deliver the Intelligent Transport System, Plant Management and Control System, ITS field panels manufacture, installation and commissioning as well as ongoing 24/7 service support and training for DPTI operators on the sophisticated system.”

McConnell Dowell CEO Scott Cummins made the following comments following the announcement, “McConnell Dowell is absolutely delighted to continue our history of close collaboration with the South Australian Government through the design and construction of the O-Bahn City Access Project. We have a proud history of delivering new infrastructure here and this project continues that tradition.”

The minister for Transport and Infrastructure, Hon Stephen Mulligan MP, visited SAGE Automation today to officially announce that the project would be awarded to McConnel Dowell with partner SAGE Automation. “McConnell Dowell is engaging SAGE Automation which will provide expertise in the mechanical and electrical components of the tunnel,” Mr Mullighan said.
