Australian Defence Industry Awards 2020 Finalist – Defence Manufacturer of the Year

SAGE was nominated for ‘Manufacturer of the Year’ for its contribution to the defence industry in the Australian Defence Industry Awards 2020.

The Australian Defence Industry Awards are designed to celebrate the businesses and people who support the supply chain and contribute to the defence industry in Australia. SAGE was also a finalist in the manufacturing category in 2019.

This year, SAGE delivered a number of large-scale defence projects including console manufacture and assembly for Saab Australia and the design, manufacture and commissioning of cubic modular switchboards for the Navy’s Paluma-class vessels.

Over the past few years, SAGE’s defence manufacturing capability has also expanded into major infrastructure projects, particularly in the Northern Territory.

The 2020 Australian Defence Industry Awards will be announced virtually on November 26th.

ITS Australia National Awards 2020 Finalist – two categories

Announced this week, SAGE is proud to have been named a finalist in two categories of the 2020 ITS Australian National Awards. The categories are the Intelligent Mobility Award for Matilda and the Smart Transport Infrastructure Award for SAGE Edge.

In addition to the smart mobility benefits mentioned above, Matilda demonstrated the value of wayfinding software. This technology has evolved into SAGE’s digital kiosks, a number of which have been installed in parks, gardens and on city streets to improve service discovery in the surrounding communities.

The SAGE Edge device collects data for analysis in custom algorithms that enable understanding of pedestrian and traffic movement patterns. It has become highly sought-after by road authorities, local government and tourism operators to inform decision-making and long-term planning.

"We couldn't be more proud to be recognised as finalists for two ITS Australia awards. SAGE has been dedicated to developing technological solutions that provide great community outcomes and it is excellent to be recognised by ITS Australia peers," said SAGE Automation's General Manager for Transport, Damian Hewitt.

The annual ITS Australia National Awards celebrate the innovations and influence of Intelligent Transport Systems across the transport industry in Australia. This year saw ITS receive the largest number of submissions ever, with finalists representing the best from across Australia’s transport technology industry.

The award winners will be announced via a virtual ceremony on November 26th.
