The Urban Superway will comprise of a 2.8 km long 3 x 2+ lane elevated dual carriageway/viaduct and is to utilise a broad spectrum of ITS based systems to provide a fully ‘managed motorway’ solution, integrated with DTEI’s wider STREAMS based ITS systems and networks including;
- Lane Use Management System (LUMS)
- Variable Speed Limit System
- Wide area strategic route management signage (VMS & CMS)
- Extensive CCTV Surveillance and Video Incident Detection Systems
- Wide area data communications network (local and for communication back haul purposes)
- Intelligent lighting control (road and architectural)
- Deployment and integration of a ‘STREAMs’ based Motorway Management System
