Auspace, a member of the Nova Group of Companies, is a leading provider of cellular and satellite In Vehicle Monitoring Systems (IVMS) and Lone Worker solutions. These systems provide organisational assurance and productivity efficiencies, by monitoring and providing customer defined data on lone workers, vehicles and other assets in the field. SAGE has been appointed by Auspace as their Field Services Partner, providing services including; hardware assembly, factory acceptance testing, inventory management and warranty support for these systems.

Currently SAGE is providing installation, maintenance and support services for 100 satellite systems being integrated into the field service vehicles for SA Power Networks. With a large fleet of vehicles, many operating in remote areas, the safety of their employees and performance of these vehicles is a critical driver for SA Power Networks.

The intelligent systems monitor the location and behaviour of the vehicle as well providing a mechanism for duress alarms and monitoring in real time. In addition to proven reliability, what really sets these systems apart, is the data collection and handling capability, which enables companies to collect, process and disseminate data specific to their unique business requirements.

While cellular systems are well suited for metropolitan areas, SA Power Networks selected the satellite system as many of their vehicles work in regional locations, which drives requirements for real time duress alarm monitoring and escalation processing. This infrastructure enables a range of other alert conditions such as fatigue and vehicle weight exceptions to also be communicated, as and where required.

With a duty of care stipulated in the Safe Work Australia Code of Practice (2011), more and more companies who manage a fleet of vehicles are implementing IVMS to effectively support the safety of their workers as well as reap the benefits of the monitoring capability which enables proactive management of their assets, costs and overall operational performance.
