Project Overview

Akwa-Worx were engaged to supply a Sewage and Water Plant for the mining camp in Calliope. Akwa-Worx are specialists in containerised Sewage and Water Treatment Plants and sub-contracted SAGE to partner with them on this project.

SAGE were to supply 4 Control Panels and develop the PLC code for the control of the Sewage Treatment Plant and Water Treatment Plant. The PLC and HMI programming associated with the control systems allowed for remote access to both plants.

Project Highlights

SAGE were able to simulate the PLC code with the client prior to installation, giving both parties the opportunity to make changes off-site and reduce commissioning time.  The client is now able to monitor and make changes to both plants remotely.

Project Challenges

Managing project completion goals with flexibility towards time lines, accommodating the remote location of the project.

Project Outcomes

Since delivering this project, Akwa-Worx (and consequently SAGE) were awarded the 2nd stage of the project when the camp was expanded. This included the supply of another Water and Sewage Treatment Plant.
