SAGE designed, manufactured, tested and installed the main switchboards for the Obahn City Access
The South Australian Government’s Obahn City Access Project will use the latest intelligent transport systems (ITS) technologies and construction upgrades to improve travel times and reliability for users.
Main works contractor McConnell Dowell Australia needed to ensure the power supply for such systems would be safe and reliable.
SAGE Automation was engaged to manufacture the LV switchboards required for the project.
In addition to this manufacture, SAGE’s role in the project also extends to providing ITS and C-ITS technology and control systems integration. This includes the engineering, design, installation and testing of ITS in the road asset.

The LV switchboards now supply electricity to the new infrastructure. In addition, full redundancy backups ensures a seamless supply of electricity to the system.

SAGE has a multimillion dollar industrial power
and control panel manufacturing facility. There
it custom designs and builds electrical panels
and power switchboards for industrial control
and automation systems.
SAGE carries out detailed Factory Acceptance
Testing standards as part of the internal quality
process prior to shipping and installation.
This both confirms functional operation
before onsite installation and minimises
commissioning and testing time. It also provides
an excellent opportunity for clients to assess
system functionality and obtain detailed test
