Supporting thousands of Australian businesses with industrial digitalisation projects for more than 25 years in Australia, SAGE has reached another significant milestone – with its Indian office celebrating its 10-year anniversary.

SAGE Automation India was launched back in 2012, with the goal of bringing the best thinking in automation and control into the global market by scaling up SAGE’s services to serve key South East Asia, Middle East, Europe, and USA markets.

Leading the ambitious expansion a decade ago, was a young graduate engineer based in Adelaide, Rajesh Jagadale, who offered to take the lead in supporting the development of a team in India after hearing about the plan to expand into the global market.

As the Managing Director of SAGE India, Rajesh was tasked with building all aspects of entering the Indian market, integrating SAGE’s unique service delivery and strong cultural values on a new continent.

Rajesh seamlessly synchronised the SAGE values of Smart, Ambitious, Genuine and Exceptional in a new cultural setting in the Indian office, drawing from his time spent in the Australian office and his lived experience of being born and raised in India.

Starting as a small engineering support centre with a team of three engineers, SAGE India is now a team of more than 60 people across two offices in Pune and Mumbai, providing services for a loyal domestic customer base while acting as a central hub for project delivery across the global market.

SAGE India has built a growing list of high-profile clients – including a Fortune 500 food and beverage company – delivering projects across multiple sectors while also offering training to upskill Industry 4.0 workforces.

SAGE India’s tremendous growth and impressive cliental illustrates its standalone capability in bringing SAGE to the global market, bolstered by a strong leadership team, fronted by Rajesh.

The 60-strong SAGE India team celebrate 10 years of success. 

Joining Rajesh and SAGE Founder and Executive Director Andrew Downs in celebrating the 10-year anniversary in Pune, India, Group Managing Director Adrian Fahey reflected on a decade of SAGE India success.

“After 10 years, it has been an amazing journey from start-up to now a business that is servicing customers both in India and around the world,” says SAGE Group Managing Director Adrian Fahey.

Rajesh was our very first employee in India and has grown and lead the team from day one.

Rajesh says the 10-year journey has grown SAGE India into what it always set out to be, the connective tissue linking SAGE with the global market. 

“It’s been an honour to build SAGE’s global presence and I look forward to continuing this journey over the coming years,” he said.

“What started as an ambitious plan to expand into the global market is now a reality for our dedicated and ever-growing team, and we don’t plan on slowing down.
