Lean lift ensures efficient parts handling

Written by SAGE Automation | 17 March 2021

At SAGE we are continually seeking out better ways to deliver efficiency for our customers. We identified an opportunity to transform how parts are stored and retrieved in our Advanced Manufacturing Facility and the Lean Lift was developed.

The lean lift is an automated storage facility that tracks the movement of parts throughout the manufacturing process. This efficient system boasts both physical and operational advantages, thanks to its remarkable vertical storage capacity. Unlike traditional forklift and racking systems, it can reach heights that were previously unattainable.

A digital catalogue enables a live view of stock levels with access to minimum numbers and supplier details. Parts can be booked out using an e-commerce shopping cart system. By utilising search filters, items can be easily located and sent to team members through a batch-picking system. This process ultimately results in saving valuable time and cost for our customers.

At SAGE, we have a rich history of embracing new technologies to ensure timely deliveries for our clients and a productive work environment for our manufacturing team. The Lean Lift is the latest addition to our arsenal of tools.

The Lean Lift operates alongside other Industry 4.0 initiatives including digital twin technology.
