Showcasing the latest technology at the International Driverless Cars Conference

This two-day conference on 5 and 6 November, is the first international driverless car conference in the Southern Hemisphere.

Conference attendees will see the technology and hear the research, trials and legislation changes needed to make the driverless car future a reality, as well as see driverless cars in action.

SAGE Automation will be showcasing a number of Intelligent Transport System Technologies and innovations at the event which are transforming the Road Infrastructure industry, including:

• Bluetooth Registration Plate detection camera technology - capable of collecting traffic condition data to facilitate traffic flow control.
• CCTV – High definition, network based, Pan, tilt and zoom (PTZ) Closed Circuit Televisions.  This cutting edge technology overcomes quality issues faced by current technology in loosing clarity during certain light conditions. 
• Instrumentation Training Rig – incorporating the current industrial instrumentation and technology, becoming ever more prevalent in industrial environments worldwide and skilled operators in demand.
• A wireless control system to automate school crossing updates*. This system is set to change the current manual system of updating and maintaining around 160 metro and rural sites across metro and regional South Australia for cycle changes around school holidays, day light savings as well as any faults and failures.  

This system is the work of 3rd year Flinders University Mechanical Engineering Student Josh, who is currently on a 20 week placement at SAGE.  Josh is drawing on his exposure to the electrical, civil and mechanical engineering disciplines within his degree, to work with the SAGE Automation team working on the O-Bahn City Access Project.
