About this course

PLC Intermediate

UEENEEI151A - Develop, enter and verify word and analogue control programs for programmable logic controllers

This course teaches you how to implement a PLC project from beginning to end and can be delivered as an accredited unit of competency or a non-accredited short course (please note UEENEEI150A is a pre-requisite).

This course begins by starting a PLC project from the beginning, including hardware configuration, configuring IO, and IO mapping. The course also incorporates analogue scaling, Add-On instructions, tag arrays, alias tags, good project structure, and looks at the 2 most common sequence control methods used by SAGE Engineers. The integration project involves programming and commissioning a Skills Lab training platform to complete a set scope of work using the 2 sequence methodologies. This course has been mapped to the UEENEEI151A - Develop, enter and verify word and analogue control programs for programmable logic controllers, unit of competency. It includes all formal assessments which must be successfully completed under supervision of a TAE qualified assessor in order to obtain the accreditation.

It is recommended for:

  • Entry level engineers

  • Technicians

  • Tradespeople

  • Apprentices

  • Maintenance teams

  • Operators

Participants should have foundation-level knowledge of electrical concepts and some working exposure to PLCs, or have completed the Introduction to Automation program.
